I myself was a guest at a Daydream Island wedding few years ago and I was amused to see the guests desert the bride and groom in mid vows to observe breaching whales passing by. Everyone enjoyed the whale show including the bride and groom.

What do you love about the Whitsundays?

Its hard to choose one thing I love about living in the Whitsundays as there are so many! But I would have to say the lovely, relaxing atmosphere. You can never complain when you feel as though you are on holiday 24/7!

I had an amazing wedding where the brides son, who was 7 years old, gave her away at the wedding. It was such a beautiful moment.

When the father of the Bride sees his daughter in her dress for the first time. He always looks so proud of her and gets this wonderful look on his face!

I love the weather here, particularly in winter when it’s nice and cool. I love the laid back lifestyle and the community spirit that is part of living in a smaller town.

I was lucky enough to be part of an elopement ceremony, It was so romantic and intimate, with just the bride and groom exchanging their hand written vows to one another. I felt very privileged to be part of their beautiful celebration.

I love the fishing and the boating. You can't ask for much more than the crystal clear, calm waters of the coral sea.

I was a guest recently at a wedding where the bride came to the ceremony on an old fishing boat. I thought that was a really different and interesting way to make an entrance!
